Basketball Recap: Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses at Home

There's no place like home for Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Thales Academy Apex Titans out 40-37. This was a revenge game for the Lion: when they faced off against the Titans on January 7th, they had to take a 66-48 defeat.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Solano Barbeito, who posted six points and six steals. The dominant performance gave Barbeito a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Micah Strawn, who had 12 points.

Despite the loss, Thales Academy Apex still got an impressive performance from Zach Rachmuth, who went 7 of 10 en route to 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Rachmuth has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14. As for Thales Academy Apex, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 9-10.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-45 victory against Friendship Christian on the 28th. Thales Academy Apex has also already played their next contest, a 67-64 defeat against Neuse Christian Academy on the 28th.
