Baseball Recap: Bear River Extends Winning Streak to Three

Bear River entered their tilt with Mountain Crest on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Mustangs a 6-0 shutout. Considering the Bears have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Holden Potter's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bear River saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dallin Rice, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Brooks Drollinger was another, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Bear River's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Mountain Crest, they moved to 6-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Bear River will have a chance to go back-to-back against Mountain Crest: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
