Cobre has been on the road for six straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Hot Springs Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hot Springs took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Cobre, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Cobre really took it to Socorro for the full four quarters, racking up a 34-7 win on the road. The result was nothing new for Cobre, who have now won four games by 22 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Hot Springs fell victim to Hatch Valley's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Bears at home and fell 48-0. Hot Springs was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Cobre's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.5 points per game. As for Hot Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
Cobre strolled past Hot Springs in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a score of 31-16. Will Cobre repeat their success, or does Hot Springs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
