Gibsonburg found their leader in underclassman Elly Evarts, who scored 27 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Evarts has scored at least a third of Gibsonburg's points. Another player making a difference was Leah Hall, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Lakota pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Gibsonburg, their win bumped their record up to 13-1.
Lakota lost to Gibsonburg at home by a decisive 44-29 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Evarts, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
