Floydada posted their biggest win since February 20th on Friday. They claimed a resounding 74-42 victory over the San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy Eagles. For the Whirlwinds, this counts as revenge for the 72-47 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Floydada to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braun Hobbs, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hobbs has scored at least a third of Floydada's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sergio Valadez, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 16 points in addition to eight assists and six steals.

Floydada was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Floydada has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.4 points per game. As for San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Floydada has already played their next game, a 73-72 victory against Iowa Park on the 27th. As for San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while.
