It was a good run, but the Hillcrest Huskies unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 57-46 to Cedar Valley. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hillcrest in their matchups with Cedar Valley: they've now lost five in a row.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Damani Wilkerson, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. Wilkerson scored a full 28.3% of Hillcrest's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Tanner, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Hillcrest's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Cedar Valley, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Hillcrest has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Herriman at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th. One thing working in Herriman's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Cedar Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Westlake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
