Rosemont is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Liberty Ranch is on a seven-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Wolverines will welcome the Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rosemont's defense has only allowed 13.9 points per game this season, so Liberty Ranch's offense will have their work cut out for them.
On Friday, Rosemont needed a bit of extra time to put away El Dorado. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cougars, sneaking past 19-16. Surprisingly, this marked the Wolverines' seventh straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Rosemont's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Alex 'Pit' Rodriguez, who rushed for 65 yards and two touchdowns, and Gus Bailey, who picked up 75 receiving yards. An impressive showing, but 'Pit' Rodriguez really ramped things up playing D: he picked up two sacks and made eight total tackles.
Rosemont didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited El Dorado to a completion percentage of just 50%. The team can thank Kenyon Hughes for the heroic effort on defense: he. Rosemont wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 58.6%.
Rosemont's defense didn't let Hunter Rupley, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by 'Pit' Rodriguez and Melik Scott, who racked up all four sacks between them. Rosemont got some further help from Hughes: he forced one fumble, made six total tackles, and defended three passes in addition to snagging an interception.
Meanwhile, Liberty Ranch beat Bradshaw Christian 28-21 on Friday. Those 28 points were actually the fewest the Hawks have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Wyatt Corriea and Mason Pisarski. Corriea had a solid game and rushed for 65 yards and one score on only eight carries. Meanwhile, Pisarski was balling out in the loss, rushing for 144 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries.
Liberty Ranch didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Andrew Quinn and Daniel Sosa.
Rosemont's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Liberty Ranch, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Rosemont has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 368 total yards per game. However, it's not like Liberty Ranch struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 444.4 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Rosemont was taken down by Liberty Ranch 41-6 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Will the Wolverines have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
