Basketball Game Preview: Victory Christian Academy Patriots vs. Rockwell Christian School Chargers

The Victory Christian Academy Patriots are taking a road trip to challenge the Rockwell Christian School Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Back in December of 2024, Victory Christian Academy came up short against Tabernacle Christian and fell 69-57. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Victory Christian Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Coby Glaze, who posted 22 points, and Javan Erwin, who had 22 points. Those 22 points gave Glaze a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Wyatt, who put up six points.

Meanwhile, Rockwell Christian School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Woodland Baptist Christian, falling 58-36. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 612th, while the Eagles are ranked 181st).

Rockwell Christian School's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Victory Christian Academy, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2.

Everything came up roses for Victory Christian Academy against Rockwell Christian School when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as the squad secured an 88-41 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Rockwell Christian School's Luke Burrell, who posted 21 points. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be easier for Victory Christian Academy to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
