2A District 2 recap Oct. 3, 2012
Millwood extended the longest winning streak in 2A District 2 this week by beating Christian Heritage, 48-13. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Falcons.
Oklahoma Christian took down Tulsa NOAH HomeSchool 47-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Austin Brooks threw for 163 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 20 yards in the win.
Steven Northerton was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 28 carries, he ran for 251 yards as Luther bested the Jaguar. Austin Weathers also contributed to the rushing game with five yards on the ground.
Barnes was the best wideout in the league this week as Oklahoma Christian topped Tulsa NOAH HomeSchool. Barnes racked up three receptions for 76 yards. Garrett Kilborn helped Oklahoma Christian's passing attack out by catching three balls for 70 yards.
Derek Turner's team's Brooks and Barnes have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 2A District 2 in both passing and receiving yards. Brooks has thrown for 1103 yards this season, while Barnes, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 22 catches for 426 yards. Dibble's Tazden Jevons leads the league in rushing yards with 722.
Millwood led the league in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on the Crusaders.
