Basketball Game Preview: Trinity Christian Tigers vs. Gramercy Christian Warriors

Trinity Christian is 8-2 against Gramercy Christian since December of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Trinity Christian Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Gramercy Christian Warriors at 7:00 p.m.

Trinity Christian managed to keep up with Community Christian until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Trinity Christian came up short against Community Christian, falling 78-53. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Cyclones: they've now lost seven in a row.

Trinity Christian's defeat came about despite a quality game from Christian LoPresti, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. LoPresti is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marion Wright, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Gramercy Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They strolled past Coastal Brigade with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 57-42.

Trinity Christian better keep an eye on Diego De Hoyos. He was instrumental in Gramercy Christian's win, going 9 of 15 on his way to 21 points along with five boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave De Hoyos a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Lowry, who put up nine points in addition to six assists and six blocks.

Gramercy Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive contests.

Gramercy Christian pushed their record up to 8-12 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Trinity Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 11-18.
