Despite the defeat, Carter-Riverside saw an underclassman step up: Johnathan Owens scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Owens has scored all season.
Carter-Riverside struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-5) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Benbrook pushed their record up to 12-16 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Carter-Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-24.
