The Mesa Vista Trojans stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 63-32 win over McCurdy. The victory was familiar territory for Mesa Vista who now have six in a row.
Tana Lopez was her usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Isabella Boies, who scored nine points along with six assists and four steals.
Mesa Vista pushed their record up to 19-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for McCurdy, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Mesa Vista will head out on the road to face off against Escalante at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Mesa Vista is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in New Mexico (they are ranked 21st, while Escalante is ranked 102nd). As for McCurdy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Santa Fe Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New Mexico (Santa Fe Prep is ranked 133rd, while McCurdy is ranked 114th).
