The Wando Warriors can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They took down Philip Simmons 50-32.
Leading Wando to victory were Malaya Mazyck and Isabel Waite. Mazyck scored 8 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals, while Waite scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Causey, who scored 5 points along with 7 rebounds.
The victory got Wando back to even at 3-3. As for Philip Simmons, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wando will take on Lucy Beckham at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lucy Beckham presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wando in South Carolina (Lucy Beckham is ranked 18th, while Wando is ranked 88th). As for Philip Simmons, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stratford at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
