The Sahuaro Cougars's five-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They walked away with a 65-52 victory over Pueblo. For Sahuaro, this counts as revenge for the 57-50 loss Pueblo walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Sahuaro's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cassandra Coolidge, who scored 32 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Coolidge has scored at least 25% of Sahuaro's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ny'Anza Brown, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Sahuaro's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-6. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.33 points. As for Pueblo, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sahuaro won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Canyon del Oro at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Pueblo won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Salpointe Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Hopefully Salpointe Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Wednesday.
