Village and St. Pius X are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2018, but not for long. The Village Vikings' road trip will continue as they head out to face the St. Pius X Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Friday.
Village lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Friday was a bit more commanding. They had to suffer through a rough 81-54 loss at the hands of Antonian Prep. While losing is never fun, Village can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while Antonian Prep is ranked 41st).
Meanwhile, St. Pius X's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. Their rough 71-51 loss to St. Thomas Catholic might stick with them for a while.
Village has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-16 record this season. As for St. Pius X, they now have a losing record at 15-16.
Village came up short against St. Pius X when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 52-43. Can Village avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
