Even though the Bamberg-Ehrhardt Red Raiders have not done well against the Whale Branch Warriors recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Bamberg-Ehrhardt snuck past the Warriors with a 61-57 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Bamberg-Ehrhardt's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chanston Crosby, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Eric Parker, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Whale Branch's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kevin Jenkins, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds, and Greggory Gilbert who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Bradford Thompson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
The victory was the third in a row for Bamberg-Ehrhardt, bringing their record for this year to 10-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Whale Branch, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bamberg-Ehrhardt will take on the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Allendale-Fairfax is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses. As for Whale Branch, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Yellow Jackets at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
