The Lake Norman Charter Knights can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Pine Lake Prep by a score of 66-56. Lake Norman Charter's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Leading Lake Norman Charter to victory were Reece Long and Callie Genece. Long dropped a double-double on 20 points and 17 rebounds, while Genece dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Genece has scored at least 25% of Lake Norman Charter's points. Another player making a difference was Lucy Courtney, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds.
Lake Norman Charter's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-6. As for Pine Lake Prep, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Norman Charter will face off against Concord at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pine Lake Prep won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Charlotte Latin at 5:30 p.m. on December 13th. Charlotte Latin is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
