The California City Ravens entered their tilt with the Rosamond Roadrunners with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. California City slipped by Rosamond 59-58 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
California City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Avery Spears led the charge by scoring 19 points. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassius 'Hollywood' Brown , who scored 20 points.
Rosamond's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrew Arredondo, who scored 15 points. The matchup was Arredondo's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cameron Gomez, who scored 14 points.
California City's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Rosamond, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
California City will be home for the holidays to greet Desert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rosamond, they will head out on the road to face off against Littlerock at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Littlerock will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
