Springstead has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Crystal River Pirates at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Springstead is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Crystal River in Florida (Springstead is ranked 138th, while Crystal River is ranked 388th).
Springstead has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 20 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Hernando on Thursday as Springstead made off with a 59-36 win.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Springstead to victory, but perhaps none more so than Malanie Francis, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Francis also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Addy Osborne, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Crystal River had to suffer through a rough 71-31 loss at the hands of Hernando. Crystal River was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-20.
Springstead has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Crystal River, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3.
Springstead beat Crystal River 63-54 in their previous matchup back in January. Does Springstead have another victory up their sleeve, or will Crystal River turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
