In what's become a running theme this season, the Lucas Cubs gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. Everything went their way against Central Christian as Lucas made off with a 56-32 victory. The victory was familiar territory for Lucas who now have four in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lucas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabe Porter, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Culler, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Lucas pushed their record up to 13-3 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.5 points. As for Central Christian, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lucas and the Flames will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Mansfield Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully the Cubs like a good challenge. As for Central Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Spartans at 7:30 p.m.
