After a string of eight wins, Gustine's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Mariposa County Grizzlies by a score of 3-2. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Jake Campbell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mike Saaranzin was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Gustine's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-4. As for Mariposa County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-7.
