The Bonneville Lakers are taking a road trip to challenge the Clearfield Falcons at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Bonneville put up the most points they have all season on Monday. They put the hurt on Ogden with a sharp 12-1 victory. The Lakers not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23, 2024.
Peyton Johnson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ellee Summers, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Madilyn DeGroot also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.
Bonneville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ogden only posted a batting average of .227.
While Clearfield didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Woods Cross a 15-0 shutout on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won four in a row.
Jenna Lloyd made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Lloyd was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Clearfield got a massive performance out of Alexandra Bingham, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Lyla Leonhardt, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double.
Clearfield's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bonneville, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7.
Bonneville couldn't quite get it done against Clearfield when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Can Bonneville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
