Charlotte Catholic was led to victory by Eddie David and Chris Eagan. David scored 19 points, while Eagan scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. David continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Liam Gates, who scored 11 points.
Despite the loss, East Mecklenburg still got an impressive performance from Bryson Heath, who scored 18 points along with three steals. Heath is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Jordan Buzzard was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two blocks.
East Mecklenburg struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Charlotte Catholic racked up 12 assists.
Charlotte Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for East Mecklenburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.
Charlotte Catholic will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against United Faith Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on January 20th. United Faith Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for East Mecklenburg, they will head out on the road to take on Providence at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Providence will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 347th, while East Mecklenburg is ranked 150th).
