The Walkertown Wolfpack will face off against the Morehead Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Walkertown has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight losses, while Morehead will come in with three straight victories.
Walkertown came up short against McMichael on Thursday, falling 17-5.
Olivia Boast was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one triple. That triple was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, Morehead never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past Bartlett Yancey 17-0. The matchup marked the Panthers' most dominant win of the season so far.
Brooklynn Wray made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Wray was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI and two runs.
In other batting news, Saillie Aheron was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Taylor Hopper, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Morehead hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bartlett Yancey struck out seven times.
Morehead now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Walkertown, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Walkertown has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Morehead struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Walkertown skirted past Morehead 2-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Will the Wolfpack repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
