The Ocean View Seahawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 62-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Godinez Fundamental. If Ocean View hoped to take revenge for the 57-46 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
When it comes to explaining why Ocean View lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brayden Ackerman. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Blake Girotti was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Ocean View has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season. As for Godinez Fundamental, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 19-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ocean View will take on Segerstrom at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Segerstrom and Ocean View are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Godinez Fundamental, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Westminster at 6:30 p.m. Westminster knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully Godinez Fundamental likes a good challenge.
