Two dominant backs in Kamore Harris and AJ Ezell are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Comer Tigers will face off against the Clarke County Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Comer will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Comer extended their postseason success on Friday against Highland Home. They came out on top against the Flying Squadron by a score of 21-14.
Harris was his usual excellent self, rushing for 215 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.4 yards per carry. Harris was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards.
Meanwhile, Clarke County's game on Friday was all tied up 8-8 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 22-15 win over Goshen. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Clarke County.
It was another big night for Ezell, who rushed for 205 yards and a touchdown.
Comer's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Clarke County, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Comer has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 249.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Clarke County struggles in that department as they've been even better at 252.8 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Comer came up short against Clarke County in their previous matchup back in November of 2021, falling 14-7. Can Comer avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
