After flying high against the Macon County Tigers on Thursday, the Glencliff Colts came back down to earth. Glencliff took a 76-60 bruising from Overton on Friday. Even though they lost, Glencliff's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 51.4 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite the loss, Glencliff still got an impressive performance from Jeremy Polk, who scored 29 points along with 6 rebounds. Polk scored a full 48.3% of Glencliff's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Eric Thomason was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Overton was led to victory by William Livingston and William Carter. Livingston scored 21 points, while Carter scored 28 points. The contest was Carter's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Hurt, who scored 9 points.
Glencliff's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Overton, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Glencliff will play host again and welcome McGavock, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (McGavock is ranked 282nd, while Glencliff is ranked 303rd). Overton will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Father Ryan at 7:30 p.m. on December 4th. Father Ryan will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
