Baseball Game Preview: Red Bank Lions vs. East Ridge Pioneers

For the second straight game, Red Bank will face off against East Ridge. The Lions will be playing at home against the Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Red Bank is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past East Ridge 17-2 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Anyer Alvarez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted over his last four matchups. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base. He has become a key player for Red Bank: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-11 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sean Brune, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Demetruss Wilbur was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Red Bank always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Ridge only posted an OBP of .211.

East Ridge is on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11. As for Red Bank, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 11-12 record.
