After a string of four wins, the Hazen Highlanders's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 42-28 bruising from Juanita. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hazen has scored all season.
Hazen lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Makenna Garrett, who scored six points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was India Andrews, who scored 13 points.
Hazen struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Hazen's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-8. As for Juanita, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7.
Hazen will head out on the road to face off against Mercer Island at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Mercer Island and Hazen are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Juanita, they will be playing at home against Interlake at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
