Baseball Recap: Dekalb Has No Trouble Against Glenn

While DeKalb didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Glenn Falcons 14-2 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Barons, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Miles Brockhouse was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Brockhouse was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Ashten Tuttle was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs. Bryson Gadson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

DeKalb always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Glenn only posted an OBP of .318.

The victory made it two in a row for DeKalb and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Glenn, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DeKalb will take on Angola at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Barons are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Glenn, they will square off against Kankakee Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
