It was a good run, but the Bayside Marlins unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell to First Colonial 67-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (56), Bayside still had to take the loss.
Bayside lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jessie Ware, who scored 19 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Ware is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Micala Poe, who scored 22 points along with three steals and two blocks.
Bayside's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-8. As for First Colonial, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bayside will take on the Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for First Colonial, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Virginia (Ocean Lakes is ranked 206th, while the Patriots are ranked 210th).
