The Sneads Pirates and the Liberty County Bulldogs squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but sadly the Sneads Pirates had to settle for second. They took a hard 42-26 fall against the Bulldogs. Sneads has struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as their match on Monday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Sneads lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jamea Williams, who scored 11 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Bellamy, who scored five points along with two steals.
Gabriella Flowers was her usual excellent self, scoring 27 points for Liberty County. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Flowers has scored all season. Caleigh Peddie was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Sneads' loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Liberty County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.
Sneads does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Liberty County's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on February 7th. Blountstown is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 11 games.
