The Malone Tigers will be playing at home against the Sneads Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Malone focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday.
Malone's recent rough patch got a bit rougher after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 72-48 defeat at the hands of Marianna. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Malone in their matchups with Marianna: they've now lost five in a row.
Malone's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jackson Welch, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, and Jamir Smith who scored 12 points. Welch has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Jamerious Sims was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sneads was able to grind out a solid victory over Altha on Thursday, taking the game 57-47. Given Sneads' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Altha is ranked 664th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Malone has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Sneads, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-4.
Malone opened the new year with a less-than-successful 66-55 loss to Sneads. Will Malone have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
