Make it eight blowout wins for the Evangel Christian Lightning this season. They really took it to Brooklane Baptist for the full four quarters, racking up a 50-9 victory at home. The victory was some much needed relief for Evangel Christian as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Hannah Benson was the offensive standout of the game as she scored eight points.
Evangel Christian's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Brooklane Baptist, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Evangel Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against East Central HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. East Central HomeSchool will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Brooklane Baptist, Brooklane Baptist and Chilton Christian Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
