The Pomona Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 61-43 fall against Western Christian. While losing is never fun, Pomona can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 871st, while Western Christian is ranked 433rd).
Leading Western Christian to victory were Dj Harris and Brian Wallace. Harris scored 15 points, while Wallace scored 17 points. The matchup was Harris' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Hooper, who scored eight points.
Pomona has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Western Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Pomona is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Garey at 6:30 p.m. on December 20th. As for Western Christian, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Summit at 7:00 p.m. on December 18th. Summit is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
