The Nova Titans will face off against the Saint Andrew's Scots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Nova 3.4, Saint Andrew's 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
While Nova didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Gulf Coast on Tuesday, sneaking past 5-4. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Titans as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Jaiden Delgado was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
In other pitching news, BJ Hernandez tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Ayden Paredes, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jose Palencia was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Saint Andrew's waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Knights a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Scots, who have now won four games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Saint Andrew's also got a great performance from Emery Coleman as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Aaron Orozco was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Coy Allman, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.
Saint Andrew's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Nova, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
