On Wednesday, the La Cueva Bears faced the Cleveland Storm in a battle between two of the state's top teams. La Cueva received a tough blow as they fell 73-57 to Cleveland. La Cueva's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Loss or not, La Cueva got some senior leadership from Dylan Chavez who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and Brandon Bartlett who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bartlett has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Lovato, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
La Cueva's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Cleveland, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games.
