The Lima Bears scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Everything went their way against Leadore as Lima made off with a 64-44 win. The victory was some much needed relief for Lima as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Despite the loss, Leadore saw an underclassman step up: Dane Piippo scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Porter Mayo was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Lima's win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Leadore, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Lima will challenge the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Leadore, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Miners at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Idaho (Mackay is ranked 128th, while the Mustangs are ranked 146th).
