Wyoming Valley West made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,126 from 1,348. The advance stemmed from a 12-6 victory over James M. Coughlin last week.
Julius Ward put up the best numbers through the air as Hazleton fell to Pittston. He had a total of eight completions for 92 yards. Ward's favorite target this week was Zack Kehler, who caught two passes for 37 yards.
Sadiq Burkholder was the best wideout in Wyoming Valley 4A this week as Williamsport lost to Dallas. Burkholder racked up three receptions for 37 yards.
Burkholder was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 11 carries, he ran for 50 yards as the Millionaires lost to the Mountaineers. Teammate Devin Miller added to the ground attack by rushing for 39 yards.
The Cougars' 6-foot-1 quarterback Ward is the league leader in passing yards this season with 236. On the ground, Williamsport's Miller has rushed for 562 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Burkholder. The Williamsport star has seven catches for 86 yards.
Hazleton fell 26-21 to the Patriots in the closest game of the week. Ward ran for three yards in the loss.
