Lakeview has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Big Rapids Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Big Rapids took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Lakeview, who comes in off a win.
Lakeview scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They breezed by Crossroads Charter Academy at home to the tune of 56-22. The win was just what Lakeview needed coming off of a 60-36 loss in their prior game.
Big Rapids won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Monday. They were dealt a 75-27 defeat at the hands of Whitehall. While losing is never fun, Big Rapids can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while Whitehall is ranked 17th).
Lakeview's win bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Big Rapids, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5.
Lakeview took a serious blow against Big Rapids when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 63-12. Can Lakeview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
