After two games on the road, Timber Lake is heading back home. The Timber Lake Panthers and the Bison Cardinals will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
After soaring to 65 points the game before, Timber Lake were a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They were beaten by Harding County 56-22. While losing is never fun, Timber Lake can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Harding County is ranked 16th).
Bison posted their biggest win yet this season on Saturday. They blew past McIntosh 45-24. The win was just what Bison needed coming off of a 65-18 defeat in their prior matchup.
Timber Lake has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Bison, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.
Everything came up roses for Timber Lake against Bison in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 56-19 victory. Will Timber Lake repeat their success, or does Bison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
