The Cranston East Thunderbolts lost against the West Warwick Wizards back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Cranston East took a 52-37 bruising from West Warwick. Cranston East has not had much luck with West Warwick recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Cranston East still got an impressive performance from Mya Jiminez, who scored 25 points. The match was Jiminez's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayna Gunderway, who scored nine points.
Cranston East bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for West Warwick, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Cranston East will be playing at home against Mt. Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Warwick, they will head out on the road to face off against Mount St. Charles Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Rhode Island (Mount St. Charles Academy is ranked 16th, while West Warwick is ranked ninth).
