Topsail had a senior duo take command as Hannah Gates had 11 assists and five digs and Hannah Losey had 14 assists and six digs. Losey is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Josie Nelson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Hoggard sidestepped Coastal Christian for a 3-2 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted against the Centurions since September 14, 2019.
Hoggard was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-13, 19-25, 26-28, 25-8, 15-10.
Topsail's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Hoggard, their victory bumped their record up to 17-3.
