Baseball Recap: Rutherford Takes a Loss

Rutherford was the 6-1 winner over Fort Walton Beach when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rutherford Rams fell just short of the Fort Walton Beach Vikings by a score of 5-4 on Friday. The defeat leaves the Rams still looking for their first win on the season.

Javier Gierbolini was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing four bases. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Dailer Vargas also deserves some recognition as he stolen his first stolen bases of the season.

Rutherford's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Fort Walton Beach, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-4.
