TAMPA, Fla. - the Hawks scored 21 points in the second quarter to secure a big 38-7 victory over Chamberlain (Tampa, Fla.) on Saturday.
Armwood scored on a touchdown run, a
Sterling Hofrichter touchdown pass to
Dakari Hodges and a touchdown pass by
Noah Johnson to
Trevor Laurent in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a field goal by Hofrichter in the first quarter, AHS was up 24-0 at the half.
The Seffner school expanded its lead to 31 points entering the fourth quarter. The Hawks scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by Johnson.
With the win Armwood extended its winning streak to nine games. Armwood defeated King 28-0 last week.
Chamberlain's lone touchdown came on a 35-yard run in the fourth quarter.
AHS went into the matchup giving up only 3.6 points per game. The Chiefs came in giving up 14.8 points per game this season. Chamberlain struggled against Armwood's offense, which entered the game scoring 35.0 points per game.
The loss was the fourth in a row for CHS.
Next week, the Hawks (9-0) will take on Strawberry Crest in a non-conference game. The Chargers have put together a 6-3 record on the year so far.
