The Pasco Pirates suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Zephyrhills 61-21. While losing is never fun, Pasco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 640th, while Zephyrhills is ranked 317th).
When it comes to explaining why Pasco lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mason Pippin. Despite the final result, he scored three points.
Pasco's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-11. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.7 points per game. As for Zephyrhills, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
Pasco will look to defend their home court on Monday against Weeki Wachee at 7:30 p.m. Weeki Wachee is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Zephyrhills, they will head out on the road to challenge Lake Minneola at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lake Minneola focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
