SkyView Academy can attribute much of their success to Lydia Slocum, who posted 23 points along with eight boards and five steals. Slocum continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Martin, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.
SkyView Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Lyons' good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 47-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dayspring Christian Academy.
Lyons' defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-3. As for SkyView Academy, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
SkyView Academy couldn't quite finish off Lyons in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 35-32. Can SkyView Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
