The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Clover Blue Eagles at 8:00 p.m. Clover took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Fort Mill, who comes in off a win.
Fort Mill had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Spring Valley on Friday and snuck past 65-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Fort Mill's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Parker, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Parker has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nas Berry, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Clover lost to the Bengals on the road by a decisive 67-53 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, Clover can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Bengals are ranked tenth).
Fort Mill's win bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Clover, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-11.
Fort Mill barely slipped by the Blue Eagles when the teams last played back in January, winning 56-55. Will Fort Mill repeat their success, or do the Blue Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
