Given Redlands East Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Blackhawks are ranked 715th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jeremiah Ivens was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Darrell Green, who scored 18 points.
Meanwhile, Redlands' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. Their tough 61-35 defeat to Beaumont might stick with them for a while. Redlands has not had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Redlands East Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. As for Redlands, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.
Redlands East Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Terriers in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 65-59 victory.
