Trinity is 7-2 against Cuyahoga Heights since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Trinity Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Cuyahoga Heights Red Wolves at 1:15 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Trinity comes in on three and Cuyahoga Heights on eight.
Trinity can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Wednesday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 68-17 win over Beachwood. Given Trinity's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Beachwood is ranked 738th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Trinity's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was De'oshania Bennett, who scored 19 points along with eight steals and five assists. Bennett hasn't dropped below three steals for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaila Wiggins, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and seven steals.
Meanwhile, Cuyahoga Heights earned a 34-27 win over Independence on Wednesday.
Trinity has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Cuyahoga Heights, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2.
Trinity came up short against Cuyahoga Heights in their previous matchup back in January, falling 44-32. Can Trinity avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
